Cathy Fox, B.S.
Site Manager
Cathy is a co-founder of the company and has been with the company since 1984. She was instrumental in developing the original Cardiology Research site into a free standing multi-specialty research center.
Cathy worked as a contract monitor for Boehringer Ingelheim for two years early in her research career. By having coordinating and monitoring experience, Cathy has a well-rounded history to guide her leadership of Apex Research Institute.She is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Alliance for Multispecialty Research.
Cathy received her Bachelor of Science degree from California State University of Fullerton in 1980. The emphasis of her study was Exercise Physiology. Prior to her position as CEO, she was a study coordinator for 10 years and has worked on well over 500 trials.
She is currently working on her MPH at Cal State University,Fullerton
In addition, she is a board member of the National Fibromyalgia Association.

Maria Gonzalez, B.S.
Office Manager/Director of Regulatory Affairs
Maria graduated from the DeVry Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in Business Operations. She has been involved with the regulatory aspects of clinical trials since 1999. She is bilingual (Spanish) and assists with translations for our Spanish speaking study subjects

Wesley Fox, B.A.
Director of Business Development
Wesley graduated from CSULB with a degree in Sinology and an emphasis in Business. After graduation he traveled extensively throughout Asia and countless areas worldwide. He finally found his niche at Apex Research Institute, working as an assistant coordinator before moving into the position of Business Development. Wesley is fluent in English and Mandarin (Chinese).

Winsom Weeks, B.S.
Quality Assurance
Winsom earned her B.S. in Biology/ pre-med from the University of Southern California. After graduation she quickly began working for Apex Research Institue as a Clinical Research Coordinator. She soon after moved into the position of quality assurance. Winsom is certified in most rating scales as well as SafTPak and GCP.

Katey McCausey, B.S.
Marketing/ Volunteer Recruiter
Katey moved to California from Michigan over 10 years ago to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree from Long Beach State. She then continued on to graduate school at UCI for a Master of Fine Arts degree, as well as the University of Phoenix for another Master’s degree in Education. She has previously worked as the Marketing Director for several medical groups and has over twelve years of marketing experience.

Lorrie Bisesi, Ph.D.
Lead Study Coordinator
Lorrie earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Southern California University of Professional Studies. Lorrie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and has also earned a Masters in Experimental Psychology from the California State University in Fullerton. Lorrie has been a research study coordinator for 5 years. Her study specialties include Metabolic Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Alzheimer's.
Prior being a coordinator, Lorrie was a research assistant for Western Educational Research Institute.

Jenny Haire, CCRC
Study Coordinator
Jenny has been with Apex for 11 years and has worn many hats during her tenure here. She is well versed in all aspects of conducting clinical trials. She is now a Clinical Research Coordinator. Jenny is Saf-T-Pak certified, BP certified and certified in phlebotomy.
Prior to working at Apex she was a medical receptionist for 5 years.

Study Coordinator
Mary received her schooling from the California State University of Long Beach. Her clinical practice came into play a little later when she found her niche as a clinical research coordinator and sub-I. Mary has been with Apex since 2009.

Sarah Sugiuchi, B.S.
Coordinator Assistant
Sarah is currently working on her nursing degree at Cal Baptist University.
Prior to working at Apex,she had been working at Hoag Hospital.
She is SafT Pak certified and certified on many different versions of electronic data capture.
